PILATES

Lisa Harlan picture
Lisa Harlan PT, DPT

Lisa’s love for Pilates began as an undergraduate dance major at Texas Christian University. She graduated in 2003 with a BFA in Ballet and a minor in Kinesiology. She danced professionally with Georgia Ballet in Marietta and taught ballet at several local schools. Teaching ballet helped develop her keen eye for movement and proper movement strategies. After several years of teaching, she decided she needed a “grown –up job” and applied to physical therapy school. She continued to practice Pilates herself until she was able to begin her own certification while in school at University of Miami. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009 and her Pilates certification from Polestar Pilates in 2010. Lisa has been a member of the Pilates Method Alliance since 2010 and attended PMA annual conferences. She has completed continuing education courses for Pilates and Physical therapy including Pilates for clients with Osteoporosis, Breast cancer survivors, and patients with Parkinson’s

Lisa has worked in multiple physical therapy settings including orthopedic, acute, and home health. The variety of rehabilitation settings has taught her that anyone really can benefit from Pilates. Whether you are a young athlete, a new mom, or a retiree looking to improve your golf game, Pilates can improve your movement patterns and your life!

Lisa has her own company, Core Health Pilates and will be seeing clients at our Precision Performance Atlanta location!
