Service Description

Join us for a practical and empowering 90-minute self-defense workshop designed specifically for female runners and walkers. This course is led by Heather Wright, a 1st Degree Black Belt in American Freestyle Karate, a martial arts tradition focused on real-world, practical self-defense. Heather has extensive experience teaching self-defense to a wide variety of groups and specializes in simple, effective techniques and everyday strategies that can be used by the average person. Whether you run solo, walk your neighborhood, or spend time on local trails, this class will provide valuable tools to help you feel more confident and prepared. Participants will learn situational awareness, personal safety strategies, and practical self-defense skills that can be applied in real-life situations. The workshop includes: Education on personal safety and risk awareness Discussion of common scenarios faced by runners and walkers Hands-on practical drills focused on simple, effective movements Strategies for prevention, avoidance, and response Ample time for questions and answers No prior martial arts or self-defense experience is necessary. This class is designed for all fitness levels and focuses on practical wisdom, confidence, and skills you can use immediately.
